AKTEL, third largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh has announced their new VAS (Value Added Service) service ‘AKTEL Call Block’ product for entire AKTEL Subscribers. At a press conference, held on Spectra Convention Centre on 04 August, 2008, AKTEL Officially Announced their new product, named ‘AKTEL Call Block Service’ which is a unique service in Bangladesh for Cell / Mobile phone user of Bangladesh.

AKTEL officials said, AKTEL fully understand its customers' needs and to ensure safe and enriched mobile experience, it always tries to introduce new and convenient value added services.

AKTEL's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Jefri Ahmad Tambi said on a speech, "AKTEL is happy to be the first operator in Bangladesh to be able to launch this service, staying true to the commitment of keeping AKTEL customers clearly ahead.

AKTEL CALL BLOCK SERVICE is an unique first ever call blocking service in Bangladesh, which can create a list of numbers, from where you don’t want to receive any call. This value added Call Block Service carry a lot of feature including creating a ‘white list’ or a ‘black list’ of phone numbers, which can be use to Accept or Reject incoming call.

Using AKTEL CALL BLOCK Service is very easy. To register this call block service, just call 8181 from any AKTEL Subscribers Number and follow instructions thereafter.

To block unwanted callers by SMS, customers have to type addbmobile number and send it to 8181 or simply dial the same number and follow instructions. The number can be unblocked too by sending addbmobile number to same number.

As many as 5 numbers can be blocked without any charge at all and the subscription fee of the service is only Tk. 30/month.

Just remember the subscription fee, it is only Tk.30.00 per month. Not too much hah!
