Hey,

Did you hear about Scour? It is the next gen search engine with Google/Yahoo/MSN results and user comments all on one page. Best of all we get paid for using it by earning points with every search, comment and vote. The points are redeemable for Visa gift cards! It's like earning credit card or airline points just for searching! Hit the link below to join for free and we will both get points!

Some people have mentioned that when they enter their email and password to refer people to the website (which is never a good idea, but scour.com promised big points) that scour immediately sends the advertisement to everyone on the mailing list.
There is a promise of money (after thousands of searches you have the oppritunity to earn $25) which may be true considering the amount of spamming scour.com can do, especially once they have your email, the number of mailing lists you can lad on is immense.

Lastly, if you look into the past of the guy who runs scour.com, then you may notice the name of the man running it. Apparently, the man is affiliated with abcsearch.com, which appears to have the reputation of a high-spam website.

Overall, scour.com probably is a hoax in that they can earn a lot of money by selling your email etc. so when you sign up do not use your main email, and if you want to refer friends to scour.com, DO NOT use the 'special service' that involves entering your password into the website. Instead, send an email from your email account with the correct link to the website so you still get the point benefits if your friend joins but without scour.com having complete access to your email account.

And don't expect to earn big money immediately, because at 1 point a search (4 points max if you leave comments/etc) that leaves you with a lot of searches to make before you can earn the required 6500 points to get the lowest level prize- a $25 visa gift card.

they are freaking spammers - I already have 8 invites and they have no opt-out link in their stupid emails

My wife made the mistake of 'trying out' this service, she put in her info to pass invites to some friends and scour.com spammed everbody in her gmail contacts (almost 5000 people). Not only that, but it would send reminder emails every couple of hours continually asking them to sign up. I don't know if they pay what they say or not, but regardless, I will avoid this site due their obviously duplicitous practices.
